Abeka In Character
Travel through twists and turns, ponder plots and plays, and connect with an incredible cast as they get into character. Students will learn literary terms as they come upon “In the Spotlight” sections. Terms such as: title, author, main character, plot, setting, summarization, theme, narrative, character development, repetition, drama, act, scene, cast, stage directions, point of view, informative nonfiction, dialect, and more! “Meet the author” entries give a short biography of the different authors represented in the selections. This is a neat way for students to learn a little about their lives and how they came about with their writing career. Every short story is followed by questions that will make students recall and even debate how they might handle a situation. Answers to the comprehension questions can be found in Reading 5 Answer Key with Literary Development and Enrichment Activities – Revised. Part of the Abeka Reading – Grade 5. 282 pgs, pb. ~Amber
