Discover the vibrant world of the Deaf community with our high school American Sign Language (ASL) class. This course covers ASL basics, including vocabulary, grammar, and cultural insights. Through interactive activities and visual exercises, students will develop ASL skills and understand Deaf culture and history. ASL fosters empathy and inclusivity, opening doors to effective communication.
Students should expect to spend at least 2 hours per week, in addition to instruction time, practicing and reviewing vocabulary and lessons to build their understanding and communication skills in this foreign language.
This class will run 32 weeks, beginnig late August, Ending May 16th. This course will be held 2 days per week, Monday at 2:45pm and Wed 2:45pm with potentially an additional virtual class for a 3rd day of instruction
